gffa:gffa:starwars:Our Clone Wars crew in the style of Ralph McQuarrie.When you look at the image in full view, it really does look like Padme is holding onto one arm of his, while his other is reaching out for Obi-Wan’s arm in the same way she is, and, look, I know I’m reading things into concept art but whatever YOU WILL NOT PRY THIS TRIO AWAY FROM ME.That these are the people Anakin revolves around (and to a degree, Ahsoka as well, but she’s not defining to his life in the same way, her definition in his life is different imo), these two people are the twin suns in his sky, forever and always.THANKS @ohanakins I HATE IT.“Anakin reaching out for Obi-Wan but not quite reaching him is exactly how he views it.” is spot on, that Anakin never realizes just how much of Obi-Wan’s heart he has, because Anakin views love as only being expressed in the way where it bursts out of you, where it agonizes you to not shout it from the rooftops.He doesn’t always see that love is also the soft way Obi-Wan looks at him, with a light in his eyes that’s just for Anakin.  He doesn’t see the way Obi-Wan would follow him if he left the Jedi and still needed his Master, doesn’t see that Obi-Wan’s life has been defined by Anakin since TPM.  He doesn’t see the way Obi-Wan is always there to talk if Anakin needs it.  He doesn’t always see the reserved but deeply true way Obi-Wan loves him, not the real depth of it.And it makes me ache because these three would have been so good together–Anakin with his supernova heart, Padme with her ability to put things into direct words, and Obi-Wan with the boundaries and rock steady strength.  What each of them lacks, the other two make up for, these two twin suns in Anakin’s heart loved him so much and he loved them so much and the three of them would have been so good together.Padme with her kind heart and need to be shored up just as much as she shores up, Obi-Wan with his reserved nature being expressed with Padme’s words and the intense life Anakin brings to him, Anakin with his desperate need for structure and directness both, that Anakin/Padme are goopily in love and say all the flowery words that they both crave and maybe Obi-Wan makes disgusted faces at them (so they dial it up even further because they enjoy annoying him), that Obi-Wan/Anakin are in sync and are pillars in each others’ lives and understand the role of the Force in their lives, that Obi-Wan&Padme are deeply moral and compassionate people who can support each other and lean on each other, that there’s nothing about this trio that wouldn’t benefit them all. -- source link
