gffa:Star Wars: Age of Rebellion - Han Solo #1 | by Greg Pak & Chris SprouseTHE OTHER BEST THING ABOUT THIS ISSUE IS PAK PICKING UP ON A THING THAT HAS BEEN DRIVING THIS RELATIONSHIP FOR AWHILE: Chewbacca is absolutely pushing Han to be a better person and help out more people. This is something that’s also touched on in various other comics and novels, that Chewie is the one pushing for more activism and helping people, that a lot of the good stuff Han does helped by the excuse that, well, Chewie made him, so he guesses he’s gotta.I love it because I love their friendship, I love that it gives Chewbacca an even stronger personality, that he’s not just the muscle or the weird alien mascot, but that he actually wants things of his own, that he pushes Han into things, and that it aligns with a lot of the stuff we’ve seen from earlier in his life, before he met Han.Like in Wookiee Hunt, we see that he’s been getting into trouble and trying to help people for a long time, it ties together with how much god-awful shit the Wookiees have been put through and you understand just why Chewbacca pushes so hard on helping others, even beyond that he’s a good person. So, I loved seeing that picked up on again here, that Chewbacca is constantly pushing for more they can do, that they join the Rebellion, that they help where they can and that it fits so well with the larger narrative of Han and Chewie’s friendship! -- source link
