This is a 5¥ coin. It’s value is about 0.5 cents, but it is very important to me. When my brother came back from Japan he brought me five of them. He told me that if you offer one up to a god then they’ll grant you a wish. I made all five into necklaces, and gave one to my brother, one to his friend, one to my mom, and kept one for myself. But the fifth I didn’t know what to do with. I decided to keep it, because I felt like it could be useful. The next day my art teacher told me she has stage 3 breast cancer. I stayed with her after class to talk/cry with her. She’s my favourite teacher, and acts like a mom to all of us. It was devastating to learn that. The next day I brought in the fifth coin. I gave it to her and told her about it, then said ‘if anyone deserves a wish, it’s you’. She cried, then put it on. She hasn’t taken it off since then, and every time I see her sitting down and not helping someone she’s rubbing it. Money wise the coin is worthless, but it means more to me that it’s giving her hope that anything money can buy. -- source link
