The Seven TeacupsThis small canyon is called “The Seven Teacups” and can be found in the Eastern Sierras of Southern California. The canyoneering playground lies just north of the town of Kernville and is part of the Dry Meadow Creek. The creek cuts through the north wall of the Kern River and drops about 90 meters in this short section.Water erosion has formed seven sculptured circular pools which are linked by small and beautiful waterfalls. The pools are set in polished granite rock and were carved by rocks caught in a crevasse. The high velocity of the water swirled the rocks around, carving out the bottom of each so called pothole and making it deeper and deeper. The Seven Teacups are very popular with kayakers and climbers. In order to descend this canyon a variety of different styles and techniques can be used such as jumps, water-slides, swimming through arches and some more. The best seasons to do so are summer or fall when the water flow is not extremely high.XandiImage Credits:http://ropewiki.com/File:Seven_Teacups_CupAll.jpghttp://ropewiki.com/File:Seven_Teacups_Cup4j.jpgSources:http://ropewiki.com/Seven_Teacupshttp://www.hart3d.com/pages/travel/seventeacups.htmlhttp://bit.ly/1FQdUtL -- source link
