The essence of capturing light. The camera is a wonderful tool when used to its full advantage - it is one thing to capture moments of our every day lives in a still picture, but what happens when time becomes more than just a split second method of capturing our experiences? I have found that I have become more and more interested in how the camera can capture movement - specifically light. Our eyes cannot slow down this movement, but camera can beautifully and effortlessly capture this trace of time and light. It is one thing to capture a moving object in space, much like the photographs above, but the real beauty of this exploration comes from how we can start to paint the world around us when the camera (and its operator) becoming the canvas moving through space capturing still light. Something really special starts to happen when you look at the duality of capturing movement of time and light while staying stationary - versus capturing still light and time while moving through space. -- source link
