Day OneArrived at 9am and had a urine test and cannula fitted:I was also given antiviral (acyclovir) and antihistamine (cyclizine) tablets. Had my history taken and a general ‘sensation’ test. Finally started the IV steroids around 11am, they lasted for an hour. I then went straight onto the alemtuzumab infusion which finished around 4pm.Obs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse and oxygen saturation) were every half an hour until 6pm and then it was home time.Lunch today was chips and beans, which Mum kindly went to get for myself and Mark. I felt a bit 'out of it’ for a while around 3pm and had a headache from about 2:30pm on-wards. Apart from that, my back was killing me for about an hour but settled down after that. I was given some paracetamol which helped. I had a blood test about an hour and a half before leaving too - this was a little difficult as my veins like to hide quite a lot.At about 6:30 my headache returned, but paracetamol chased it away again. I managed to sleep a good amount but was very restless. Mum and I shared a hotel room, which turned out to be a good thing as my neuro said he’d much prefer it if I was with someone every night after the infusion, just to keep an eye on things.I was given a ‘goody bag’ to take away with me, for after the initial five day period, that consisted of pee pots, blood forms, antihistamines, antivirals and an inhaler:(Mum stayed with me all day, apart from an hour around lunch. I also had Mark, my fellow Lemtrada buddy all day, which made things go much more quickly.)N.B. Today I had Mared, Adele, Peter, Dr Mohammed and Dr Pearson (my neuro) looked after me. -- source link
