raidspriestsandbabygoats:talktotheseer:While I never approve of cheating, I would be lying if I said I didn’t enjoy seeing Bjorn cheat on Porunn. It’s so shallow of her to think Bjorn would leave her because her face is scarred when Bjorn has clearly proven from the moment that blade hit her face that he genuinely loves her. Bjorn obviously does not care about her scar if he has continued to stay with her even if she continuously pushes him away. I guess that was the last straw for Bjorn. I actually feel bad for Bjorn, not Porunn.Send your Vikings confessions here. *sigh*It wasn’t cheating, Thorunn pretty much ordered him to go and shag Torvi.Bjorn went through a stage of acting like a complete idiot when Thorunn got wounded. That whole “If she needs me, she will tell me” thing? Yeah. That’s not exactly how you should treat your suicidal wife/expectant mother of your child.Judging by how Thorunn’s acted since the beginning, I’m guessing her main thing has been her looks for her entire life. I wouldn’t be surprised if she’s even a former conquest (in all possible meanings) of Rollo’s. Her life had no worth until pretty much roughly a year before this, and what worth her life did have was probably centred around the fact she looked desirable. Of course she’s gonna be nervous now that that’s gone.Speaking of her life having no worth, that’s what her entire storyline of becoming a shieldmaiden has been about: trying to prove to everyone (including herself) that she is important. Yeah, she was stupid and way too impulsive which is what got her into this state but honestly? It’s not much different than Athelstan the first time they went to Wessex. And he wasn’t exactly the world’s greatest warrior at that point. Only real difference is he avoided being cut up (largely thanks to Ragnar and Torstein). They were both trying to prove something about themselves, and Thorunn failed to do so. Again, no wonder she’s upset.I admit the Bjorn/Thorunn stuff is…not the best, but I seriously don’t understand all the hate Thorunn gets…the logic of the confession, if I’m following it, is “I don’t like that Þorunn doubts Bjorn’s commitment so I’m glad he cheated on her, thereby proving her right.” Ooookay.(and yes it’s not really cheating but the confession doesn’t take note of that) -- source link
