I think I made this short comic about 2 years ago and didn’t draw the characters in it even once after that!  So I gave them another try :3All the stuff below is nostalgic rambling, you can ignore it if you like ;) So when looking back at the comic I still do like it, suprisingly, but I also remember the weeks!! it took me to draw it. I had to search the web for reference photos of litterally everything that is on those pages. I wasn’t confident enough with human anatomy to just think of a pose and go for it. I couldn’t draw any of the hands without taking pictures of my own hands as reference. I just discovered how you could put “realistic” shadows on stuff by making a pink/purple layer and putting it as an overlay on your drawings and used it every-fucking-where. I couldn’t use photoshop back then because “the brushes didn’t agree with me” and I couldn’t draw a straight line in it, when in fact I just needed more practice.I think that stylewise I haven’t changed a whole lot (although other drawings won’t agree with that, but for this particular piece it’s true) but everytime I draw something I feel that I’m getting better at it. I know a lot more about the program, human anatomy, how light works etc. I’m just happy to look back and see and feel the improvement! Also Haru looked like Harry Potter in the old one… I tried to fix that… I’ll stop the nostalgic flashback here before it gets out of hand. -- source link
