petercoffin: Okay, no. No. No. It is completely not slut shaming to criticize the way these male-designed, for-male characters are using sexuality to sell fantasy. It’s not cosplay where - besides often being amazing - it is real human beings being what they want. This photo is one of many drawings on a page by a guy who knows what he is drawing will result in more guys buying the books. It’s NOT a person. It’s not someone living her life, making her choices. What is she designed to be noticed for: being a well-formed character or having tits? You shouldn’t criticize real women dressing like this, even for advertisements or what have you because it’s their choice. You may criticize a company for oversexualizing women to sell things, but not the woman. But this isn’t a woman or a person; this is literally and figuratively the manifestation of a company. To imply that is slut-shaming implies a pretty big lack of understanding with the concept of slut-shaming as well as who makes comics. -- source link
