Late May, 2018 - Future Monarch Butterfly on the AsclepiasThere were a few of these, and they were chowing down on the Asclepias. Those little green balls just to the right are some of the feces. They were just destroying the plants, so everything working as intended. Definitely want to grow more of these. We haven’t had as much luck with the Asclepias tuberosas as with the incarnatas. The bugs always destroy the tuberosas so savagely that, despite what people say online, the plants never recover and never come back.We do have some of the native Ascelpias syriaca, but I only notice the Monarch butterflies being interested in those for nectar. The tuberosas and incarnata are, apparently, for munching. -- source link
