Imagine you can feel outside your body just as easily as you can inside your body, and then imagine what you think it would be like to feel this whole room all at once. Now feel what it’s like to feel just your body again. It’s kinda cold in here, huh? My toes are freezing. Is it okay if I put my feet on your lap? Thanks. Now check this out. Slow down your breathing. As you inhale, go back to feeling the whole room all at once. When you’re breathing in try to take in as much air as you can, so imagining that you’re the size of the whole room and then imagining that room bigger and bigger will help. It’s the opposite when you’re exhaling - you want to get everything out of your lungs when you exhale so not only do you go from the whole room to just feeling your own body, you figure in the back of your mind how much smaller your body must be compared to the larger room you felt a moment ago, and to make sure you get every bit of breath out, imagine yourself just a little smaller than that. There’s a lot of balance between those two as you breathe in, feeling the room get larger, then out, letting yourself get smaller. Just sit and breathe another few moments. There, you did a good job.
