MOTIVATION IS OVERRATEDHow many of us struggle with finding motivation or trying to motivate ourselves? We watch motivational videos, read motivational posts, make huge plans based on our new motivation, and it all lasts for a couple of days or weeks, and then we either scold and tear ourselves to pieces for not sticking with the new routine or start it all over again - watching motivational videos and listening to super motivated people who pump you up with a new doze of motivation. And then the cycle repeats all over again, right? Each attempt brings you more and more disappointment and dissatisfaction with yourself. I know I tried and I know I failed, why on earth I would repeat the same story again especially when I tried more than once? No one wants to repeat failure, and that’s why I prefer not to start, because from the very beginning I know what my weak spot and heel of Achilles is - motivation, got bless it!When I woke up early this morning I had 0 (zero) motivation to comb my hair, take shower, and brush my teeth, because I’m not a morning person, yet these things are my morning routine which I have been doing for years. I don’t wake up in the mood of searching for motivation for doing it, these are boring routines and I just do them. They became part of my life. I don’t really need anyone to motivate me to brush my teeth. I know if I don’t do it I will jeopardise my teeth health and beauty, so I better do it.Why do we think working out and doing exercise is any different? Why are we trying to rely on some external sources to boost us with motivation? And once the doze is over we are looking for a new stronger doze of motivation? What motivates that inspirational speaker on social media could mean nothing to me and most probably wouldn’t work on me.Integrate exercise into your life. Remember those times when your parents were telling you to brush your teeth, and it took you quite some time to start brushing them properly. And look at you now - you keep brush them, and you won’t go to bed without having your teeth clean, and it brings you satisfaction and smells nice and fresh. Working out is based on same principle (at Khobar, Saudi Arabia)https://www.instagram.com/p/CKau20VBUBo/?igshid=emrgf33qms46 -- source link
