Out of them all, though, if I had to pick one single issue of anything as my absolute favorite, it would probably be this story - “Three Septembers and a January” from Sandman. Despair has her hooks into a failed, suicidal businessman. She challenges Dream to see if he can save the man from her control. So, Dream gives the man… a dream, that he is the Emperor of the United States. Despite being homeless and widely regarded as mad, Emperor Norton manages to fend off Despair, Desire, and Delirium without even realizing it, by holding onto his dream.It’s Sandman issue #31, if you’d like to look for it. -- source link
