Angkor -one of the most important archeological sites in South-East Asia. Dating from the 9th century, Angkor Archaeological Park covers over about 400km2, some of which is forest. The site was named Angkor from the Sanskrit “nagara”, which means capital or city, and was the permanent capital of the Khmer Empire until the 15th century.
