The SHADOW SIDE OF YOUR SUN Sun in Cancer Shadow in Capricorn During this time of year, Capricorns get to face or meet their Shadow Selves. The parts of our selves that are in the dark, hidden, lurking within the invisible realm, living in our subconscious world, desiring its place at the table, needing to be part of the acceptable family.  The thing about this is over time we all have shadowy issues that pull on our hearts and tug our minds on a constant basis.  For me it’s the pull between my home life and my career. My role as a Mother, head of my home corporation meets opposition from stabilizing my career and my role in the world.  These two very important aspects of my life are constantly at odds with each other, other times in opposition or other times they are simply not jarring. This happens when there is a seemingly wide distance between these two polarities while at the same time they both have mutual purposes.  Ingraining the idea that they are two sides of the same coin or seeing that they are both holding the same rope but standing at opposite ends.  This is helping me to see that bringing opposites together is  a big part of my soul’s mission. And that challenges come in all shapes and sizes. Some come from the ways of society - like the idea of Black and White humans. As though we are not two sides of the same human coin. Embracing that opposites are meant to work together means that my home life is the foundation for my career and my career has its roots in my home life. What a dichotomy! This word keeps coming up! One of my first astrological readings was by Barbara Shere - another Capricorn female astrologer who is now deceased but who left powerful self knowledge sprinkled in my womb garden. She was good at her craft and was an astrology mentor to me. She was the first one to tell me that I am meant to work from home. She also gave me advice about my love life I wish I had followed.  What I did not know or grasp about this placement is that it is about not just working from the home but it’s about working on my home life, nurturing and disciplining my family, watering my roots, knowing my ancestors are close, honoring my feelings and emotions, respecting my Mother Self- all things stored in the vault of the 4th house. Now how about that? I soon realized that “my work was cut out for me”.  How am I going to do work that involves feelings and the emotional body when I live in a time and era where FEELINGS are aliens and strangers to many. Last time I was in a learning environment. FEELINGS were not permitted and nothing within the curriculum or structures gave  FEELINGS their chance. Yet, it is an essential part of WHO I AM, WHO WE ARE!   So I struggled for years amd danced around and fought with my emotions because it was like a boogeyman that most others were afraid of - at least every time I let mine out.  I am still dancing today, decades later, but I practice dancing WITH the Emotional SHADOWS and not around them.  Now that the Sun is in Cancer, and the Shadow is in Capricorn, a new song is arising. TIME (Saturn) has put quite a number of pieces together and FEELINGS (Moon) now have more room to be birthed naturally rather than the constant abortions. Capricorn is Saturn’s child and Cancer is the Moon’s offspring.Yet they are partners for all of us. They live in everyone, not just Capricorns or Cancers. We are all meant to develop, learn and become disciplined within our EMOTIONS. The discipline around understanding that FEELINGS are like seeds of the corn -they can be cooked slowly, boiled, broiled, sautéed, marinated, soaked, baked or they can be popped in a hot instant. My path has been about developing discipline around both my inner home life and my outer public life and the FEELINGS in between holding them together. With the Mother being in the house of the Teacher and the Teacher living in the house of the Mother. I am excited to be cracking my LIFE’s code at this junction of my journey! Some folks never ever do.  This is what WHOLE LIFE DESIGN is about. Seeing and developing all the components of my being; arranging and decorating the parts and compartments that are often neglected or locked down. We are plenty, we are complex, we are big and we are meant to be WHOLE.  Honoring the Shadow and not just the LIGHT; Seeing your life as a mystery to follow and a puzzle to piece together, a treasure hunt and a game to play which means we must be aware of the RULES of ENGAGING our AUTHENTIC WHOLE SELVES. I used to be a LIGHT worker, that only scratched the surface. Now I am a SHADOW worker and this path is now taking me deeper into the mystery, song and dance of LIFE. Now that is WHOLE LIFE DESIGNING!  Are you ready to explore the mysteries of your depths? Are you ready to turn inward - which translates to turning your life around? The secrets of your existence, the answers to your questions, the resolutions to your problems are all inside…held by your SHADOW self. Perhaps you have had it all wrong about the LIGHT.  Face your SHADOW if you dare. I am offering SHADOW INTEGRATION sessions during the Cancer Season.
