peteisnyce: tormans-space: msroney: bando–grand-scamyon: abbygine: thingstolovefor: U.S. Military Tested Chemical Weapons on WWII Soldiers by Race According to NPR, 60,000 American soldiers of color were enrolled in a secret chemical weapons testing program. These soldiers were exposed to Lewisite and Mustard gas. Exposured to these chemical agents causes lung irritation and blisters. These soldiers of color were locked into gas chambers and exposed to the agents. The government used white soldiers as the control group. “They said we were being tested to see what effect these gases would have on Black skins. You had no choice. You did not know where you were going. They didn’t tell you anything.” Rollins Edwards, 93, of Summerville, S.C.  Edwards says his skin still falls off in flakes as a result of the testing. “If you could imagine a million fire ants on you and stinging at the same. I put my gas mask on right away, that was the only thing that saved my face.” It wasn’t the only test. For the next 30 days, Edwards was made to sit, lie and crawl unprotected across open fields while gaseous clouds floated down on him and the other men with little to no medical attention. When the trial ended, Edwards was told never to speak of what had happened to him or he’d face 40 years in prison. This revelation that the Army tested chemical weapons on soldiers of color is both troubling and an outrage, but the concept of Black people being used in medical and other experiments is by no means a new phenomenon. There are numerous examples of Black people being used as guinea pigs in unethical medical experiments. Perhaps the most well-known example is the Tuskegee experiment. …and theyre mad about a flag, national anthem and #Kaepernick These are the things we just are supposed to forget. Why is my history polluted with destruction being specifically aimed at my ancestors, no wonder the congress does not want to entertain the idea of “reparations”… too much information will come out that they don’t want to admit!!  And it makes me wonder where the skin condition eczema comes from and can it be passed down… as A result of them testing on our people! Smh #Hate it! Wait. No. I need to tell the rest of the story with this. They genuinely thought they could get away with this because their intentions were to drop all the black emlisted people behind enemy lines “to disrupt their supplies” damn well knowing they would get captured and killed. They did this because they knew they were going to kill them and the sadistic fucks though “why not”. Well my Grandpa made it back.
