Four months before our baby was to be born, we were guided to buy land in the forest & build a #birth temple for our family. At the time we had no idea how big of an adventure it would be to move fully off-grid, especially just before such a snowy winter, but we trusted in Creator’s plan. And that was the theme of our birth: trusting in the power of Creation, and maintaining faith in the prayer of #Life. Our #beautiful baby boy Zion was born into his papa’s arms at 1:02am on January 5th, 2016. He is #perfect in every way. We brought him into the world so peacefully, without any interventions or complications, here in the comfort & warmth of our home. It was snowing outside and we had the mountain to ourselves. Labor was strong and short (6 hours.) It was the most primitive & empowering experience of my life; the holiest ceremony. It was just me, Ariyeh, and our “midwolf” Avalon ~ they were the best birth team I could’ve ever asked for. They helped me feel so safe, confident, and supported. Some refer to this type of birthing as “unassisted birth,” but we prefer to call it “most-assisted birth.” I was assisted by my intuition, by the forces of #nature, by my family, by Spirit, by All that Is. I didn’t want anyone poking at us or checking my progress. What felt the most #natural was to simply listen to the ancient #wisdom of my body, and to trust in the process. I knew that my body would know how to breathe, when to push, what position to be in, etc. Zion came out in three pushes with me squatting at our altar in the center of our yurt. Ariyeh caught him and Avalon got him breathing. It was pure magic. We cleaned up a little, then got into bed as a #family and snuggled until sunrise. We had a Lotus Birth, meaning we did not cut the umbilical cord. Instead we let it dry out, and preserved the placenta with salt, rosemary, and lavender. Yes we ate it, and it was by far the most nourishing meal I’ve ever had, ever! Thank you all for your support & prayers. I am so honored & so blessed to be a #mama ✨ #homebirth #motherhood #truelove #newborn #starseed #angel #tribedemama #alexandrasadventures -- source link
