So excited to finally talk about my trip to the Cinque Terre because this trip has been a long time coming! Day one was spent completely in Riomaggiore, which was the village we decided to make our home base. I don’t think we could have made a better decision in regards to that; Riomaggiore is outstandingly beautiful. After a well deserved oversleep (both of us had been traveling for over 24 hours to get there, involving buses, trains and planes) we woke and grabbed a quick breakfast on the main strip. The rest of the day was spent exploring winding paths through the village and eventually making our way to the (rocky) beach. I couldn’t believe how turquoise the water was, but at the same time I could see straight to the bottom. Snorkeling there was the highlight of the day - the underwater landscape was other worldly. Giant mossy rocks blanketed the bottom of the ocean floor and the fish surrounded us the deeper out we swam. I never wanted to leave. © Katelyn Perry | Instagram -- source link
