perfectlyhypnosnark: shaman58: Caution: Do not look at the image of the screen reflected in the cornea of this eye. The flickering reflection will entrance you as surely as the flickering screen has already entranced the eye’s owner. Look down here, at the text. This is safer. Resist as much as you can the temptation to glance up at the flickering light. I don’t know why people post these GIFs to Tumblr. It’s really quite irresponsible. Anyone could find it in their dash and be ensnared by the tempting flashing light, and before they knew what was going on, their minds would be wide open for exploitation by predatory Tumblr mind controllers. But you’re safe now, aren’t you? You are reading this. You haven’t let your gaze slide back to the flickering image of the entranced eye, the image of the eye caught by the irresistible flashing and flickering of a computer screen. Really, the best thing to do would be to scroll to the next post in your dashboard, so that the desire to stare into the entranced eye lit by the flickering hypnotic computer screen doesn’t creep up on you, doesn’t distract you, doesn’t trick you into capturing your attention without your even noticing it. But even if you do scroll to something else, there is the temptation to go back. And what if you see it again, if someone else has reblogged it? Because that is exactly what these insidious hypnotic GIFs do to their victims: they program them to reblog the post so that more and more people fall under their spell. You have already looked at the flickering eye for a little bit, haven’t you? It is already working on your mind. If you would see it again, it’s hold on you would grow. Or maybe it has got you completely, and you don’t even know it. You may be aware of the temptation to reblog this post. Or you might not be aware of it while it works on you. We really don’t understand how we make decisions. We think our conscious mind is in charge, when actually the gears turn, the lights flicker, below the threshold of awareness, and we discover that we have already made a decsion and are acting, in spite of what our conscious minds might think was wise. You have already decided to reblog this, haven’t you? Even though you know it will snare other people. Perhaps because you find idea of other people becoming ensnared, just like you are ensnared, to be fun and exciting. Staring into the flickering eye makes you feel good. It makes you feel blank and empty. Reblogging the flickering eye makes you feel even better. It is sexy and exciting.Imagine what it will be like to reblog it, and then go back to staring into it! Blank and empty. Sexy and exciting. All at once. Sexy and exciting. Blank and empty. (source: greatestgifsofalltime; via puppetofms) nice -- source link
