So male heavy these days. Yawn. I was excited by these releases in Season 2 and even season 3 (before that season started). This one? I find myself not caring.-sighs-i’m really tired of the whole “sarah being estranged from her sisters” plot. season one was so great because these relationships were new, she was just beginning to explore them and figure out their dynamics. the first season ended with the sisters finally coming together and i was super interested to see how these relationships would be expanded. season two had a little bit of this, though it mostly just developed sarah and helena’s relationship. season three had almost none of it, which was one of main reasons why the season was so weak. i don’t want to see the sisterhood estranged and put to the test. i want to see them cut the bullshit and come together, like it was hinted at in the season three finale. was alison’s speech just for show? have the girls learned nothing over the course of three seasons? then what the hell is the point? this show is at its best when the sisterhood is coming together and supporting each other, working together. it’s easy to say “sarah’s fighting for the sisterhood,” but what’s the point when she’s not actively engaging with any of her sisters? what is she fighting for and why should we care when we don’t actually get to see this force which is driving her? you can’t just say “she loves her sisters and is devoted to protecting them” without actually showing that love. we’ve seen very little of it to this point. you know what i’d love to see? how about sarah and alison comforting cosima, especially if delphine really is dead? or how about alison and cosima doing something nice for sarah, since they know that sarah’s had to part with her daughter and probably misses her. how about all three of them doing something to help helena with her pregnancy? i understand this is a plot-heavy show and that plot needs to keep pushing forward, but if we can get a pointless scene of cosima and shay in bed or alison and donnie twerking, why can’t we get a scene displaying true affection and understanding between the sisters?^This. -- source link
