Been thinking about terrae a lot this month, so I thought up a new angsty video for them yesterday. I’ve also been really stressed lately, so I decided to make a little comic based on that video in the meantime to make me feel better.I wanna try and do more edit comics in the future as practice for the stories I wanna write outside of editing, so expect to see more of these over the year if I have more quick snippets to tell. Ton of commentary this time under the cut, if anyone wants me to just post the edits on their own to look at them up close I can.So obviously this entire thing is made up of screenshots, so the biggest task was finding shots of Rae that matched up with constant lighting and also eye direction so less work for me. Took me f o r e v e r to find good shots for every single panel except for the crying ones, so I ended up with a ton of duplicates of her walking away for the first panel especially. I would’ve loved a more helpless looking ninth panel, but I didn’t have a ton to work with, like the last one she’s still on her knees but it just looks like she’s standing cause her back arch is nonexistent, so that sucks.I had to rebuild her arm a couple times over Star’s cause it’s so much easier than finding pieces and masking them together like I used to do back in the old days, god I will be forever thankful to shape layers for this reason. I wanted to change the roses to a different colour but I couldn’t decide on what so I just moved on and kept them red.I’m not too happy with how the fifth panel turned out though cause it’s Star’s hand and a fake arm and adjusted head/torso, I wanted to make it look like she floated up to touch her face and she’s sinking back down in the next shots, but I dunno if it comes across in this form :/ I built her new heads and then just shifted her down with each panel so show her sinking, but unless I showed Terra in there too yeah it might just look like she’s still on the ground with a lower angle making it look like she’s touching Terra’s face instead. Maybe I’ll go back and get a different shot of the statue so she’s just on the ground the whole time, maybe I’ll leave it, who knows ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I wanted to add in a couple shots of her floating up to make it perfecty clear, but Terra only has two angles in statue form, front upward angle and back downward angle, so if I wanted that I’d have to draw it myself and I wasn’t in the mood to spend more time than necessary doing super extra stuff cause it was 3am and I was tired lmao maybe for the video version I will, I more than likely will.As for the crying panels, I knew what I wanted from the get go: Raven slowly breaking down as it hits her once again that Terra is gone and she can’t help her and misses her. Her expression in The End pt1 is perfect for that, she looks so damn helpless, but everything but her face is unusable obviously because Robin is holding her on the ground. Sooooo I knew I wanted to do a faceswap, and I’m extremely happy with the results. I just wish I had found a better scene to use, cause I had to recolour her cloak from Spellbound with the original thought of her turning away as she sank, which I didn’t do cause I forgot to grab a mid shot of her turning her head and was too lazy to get it lolAnyway yeah I hope you guys like this, I never write bts stuff much anymore and I had a feeling that if I made it a new post it might be missed, so I hope someone finds this kinda thing interesting c: -- source link
