It’s consistent for SMC to tone down the nightmare fuel in these moments, though, I still found the moment plenty effective.I always take note of this moment because it fascinates me, wondering just what exactly it means that Wiseman fused with the planet Nemesis, that his bones/body is just an empty shell that floated around while his essence was actually still on Nemesis bonding with it.And I keep coming back to Chaos, how it was envious of those born to celestial bodies, and I think Death Phantom is the most clear example of that, of wanting to steal away a Sailor Soldier type of power for himself. It all just fits when I look at it in that vein (along with the whole Sailor Nemesis theory I’ve written about a bunch of times) and always makes this moment have even more significance. That it’s not just “oh lol let’s have him randomly merge with the planet it’ll be awesome!” but instead it’s a consistent theme with the agents of Chaos and lends to some really interesting theorizing about the worldbuilding of Sailor Moon! -- source link
