jessicaclark: I’m 28 soon, no longer a lost little girl in my twenties but a woman. Sometimes I forget I have tattoos all over my face and wonder why I am being stared at in public, then I remember. I get a lot of bad looks still, especially when I am with my son, but I just smile lovingly back at people and they usually looked shocked at my reaction. My tattoos are my scars, my life story etched deep into my skin, of happiness, death, pain, rebirth, growth, love, heartache. To me they are beautiful, just like my stretch marks from carrying a child inside of me. Don’t be so quick to judge people who look different, people who wear their character and their stories. They are just like smile lines, frown lines, grey hair. Expression is a choice, it’s beautiful, you can wear your heart on your sleeve or on your face, around your neck, or keep it in your heart, that’s up to you. We are all perfectly imperfect and it’s beautiful. -- source link
