darknesslioness: darknesslioness: Animalization – Shinyzango’s The Nutcracker – Cat and MouseAfter drawing the animalization sketches of @shinyzango’s Hans and Clara, I wanted to try drawing her Mouse King for the first time. Then it turned into this. Went a little overboard. I added Hans as a maroon-colored, cougar nutcracker, courtesy of a transformation spell mentioned in my last nutcracker post. I wanted to have the MOUSE King fight a CAT Hans, so I turned the wooden boy into my college’s mascot. :PSo! Story, since I can NOT spend so much time on a piece, avoiding homework, and not have a backstory to work off of! So, while drawing this, I was thinking about the set up. Was considering the castle, but figured Hans and Clara wouldn’t go near there in their current condition and the great halls of castles are freaking hard to draw (in case you didn’t know, Clara is under the same spell and is currently a cougar as well)! So, I chose a more suitable environment for two mountain lions, a forest … and set it on fire. Basically, the Mouse King and his minions found them while they were still under the temporary animalization spell (my art style basically) and, feeling defenseless in their new forms, they tried to make a run for it into the thick brush of the woods. Not an easy feat since they still aren’t very good on four legs, Hans especially with his mechanical parts, but in desperation they managed. On the verge of losing easy prey, the Mouse King orders his underlings to set the forest ablaze, to either burn them alive or smoke them out (fire seems to be a frequent weapon/threat against Hans in Nutcracker stories for obvious reasons, so yeah). The fire spreads like … well … wild fire, and while trying to avoid the flames, Hans and Clara end up getting separated. In terror and confusion, Clara accidentally runs back the way she came and runs straight into the Mouse King, as he was following the fire’s destruction. He pins her down, taunts the little kitty (he does call her that), and rips off her necklace, curious as to why she had it even in animal form. Clara manages to push him off (because adrenaline and big cat strength) and tries to get it back, but the King just smacks her away, causing her to collide with a tree. As she lies still, the Mouse King moves to finish her off, when suddenly Hans bursts through the flames beyond the tree in a full-on charge at him, cougar screech and all. The big cat lunges at the mouse, claws extended and jaw wide, and the battle beneath the burning trees begins.Hans gets to REALLY unleash his primal side.Deviantart version here!First post here!I may do other EASIER sketches (maybe prequels and follow-ups to this one) if school doesn’t get too chaotic. I’ve posted the drawing’s stages as well because I like looking at progress. Helps you see how far you’ve come! Show Chapter | Archive of Our Own ShinyZango’s The Last Nutcracker - A Game of Cat and MouseFinally, after years of procrastination, this piece of fanwork I did so long ago has a written story behind it. If you like animal brawls, ‘big cats’, and/or tender moments, check out the link above!Enjoy! As mentioned before, the characters do not belong to me. They belong to @shinyzango and her The Last Nutcracker adaptation. This is another fanfiction I made for her adaptation and should not be taken as canon events. Thank you. -- source link
