This is a photo of the eruption of Mount Pinatubo on the 15th of June 1991. It is an active stratovolcano located on the island of Luzon, near the tripoint of the Philippine provinces of Zambales, Tarlac, and Pampanga. It was the second largest terrestrial eruption of the 20th century after the 1912 eruption of Novarupta in the Alaska Peninsula. The eruption, which killed 800 and made 100,000 homeless released, released millions of tonnes of sulfur dioxide into the atmosphere;resulting in a decrease in the temperature worldwide over the next few years.
