Harvesting the last of my potatoes and snow peas freed up lots of space in my raised bed. So I turned all the soil, picked out roots, broke up clumps, unearthed and destroyed a festering nest of harmful creepy crawlies which had been attacking my potatoes, mixed in fish compost and worm castings to give the soil a fresh start, and cut the seed trenches you see above, for a late summer planting of mostly bush beans, but also gai-lan, corn salad, cilantro, dill, and milk thistle. I think we still have plenty of warmth and sunlight left this summer and early fall for some good late fall harvests. -- source link
