The Chocolate hills are an unusual geological phenomenon located in Bohol Province, in the Philippines. There are as many as 1776 hills over a 50 square km area. The hills are haycock hills, are conical and in some cases are totally symmetrical. The grass covered hills are made of limestone, and whilst no one is entirely sure how they have been formed, the most accepted theory is that they have been formed from the weathering profile of the limestone. The chocolate hills are considered to be an amazing example of karst topography.
