Mugshot Monday - “Wench ‘Tis She” coffee mug from Renaissance Festival 2007 by Deneen Pottery with Wonderland Espresso Blend by Peace CoffeeIt’s very likely I’ll find an old Renaissance Festival ceramic coffee mug or wine goblet for sale every time I go to a thrift store. Each one has a medallion with the year and some renaissance-y art stamped on it.But I’d NEVER seen one like this!The handle is crooked and the cup has little divots for fingers for when you hold the mug tight with both hands. I had to get it.I’m a little embarrassed, but I don’t really understand what the true meaning of “Wench” is. I get that it’s a medieval thang, though.I’m pretty sure if I’m drinking from this cup then it means I’M THE WENCH this morning. Did you know Renaissance Festival has plans to open in August 2021? I did not. They’re even honoring 2020 tickets if you have them. They had to shut down the festival due to Covid last year.Everyone who wants a vaccine by then should have one so we can all go! We’ll even wear some rad renaissance-inspired masks, I bet. That’s very encouraging to think about. EDIT: My friend Amy points out to me after I posted this that it’s International Women’s Day today! ‍♂️ My goodness I hadn’t checked the calendar. This was not the most inspiring coffee mug I could have featured today.
