stvrmbreaker:frozenmusings:black-diamond96:sleemo:“Rey was a second chance for Han to be the father he wanted to be, and he taught her the most important lesson that any of us can learn: you matter.” HOW DAAAAREThis hurts so much for so many different reasons and it actually makes me upset.I’m so so glad Han was able to teach her this one important thing but man…My heart.I love how both he and Leia just decided to give themselves a second chance in being good parents to other people’s kids while their own was too deep in hell for them to try to reach. I’m happy that Rey got all the love from them though, she’s good and strong, what’s not to love?As glad as I am that Han was able to teach Rey that she matters and that he basically got a second chance at fatherhood (for like 3 days, so its not like it was HARD and at all like actual fatherhood, but whatever helps his pride and mental state), this actually makes me mad and sad. Like where was that lesson when Ben was growing up? Ben didn’t feel like he mattered. Ben overheard conversations of his parents being afraid of him. Of thinking he was a monster. And then they sent him away to train with Luke, who then almost tried to kill him in his sleep. Just another person he thought he didn’t matter to. Ben’s life has been nothing but thinking he doesn’t matter to people. And then when he finally believes he mattered to someone, Rey leaves him. Like no wonder he wanted to destroy the Resistance at the end. Boy was heartbroken and pissed off. -- source link
