First real development update! I’ve buckled down the past few days and set up a lot of the foundational code that the rest of the app relies on! This has been a big learning experience for me since it’s my first time coding for android. I learned how to create intents, fragments, and GridViews, and how to set up and manage a database using the Android APIs. As of this update, I have the database pretty much in place which, although I don’t have a lot to show for it, is a very big step! I’ve also begun setting up the home screen and ingredient selection screen. I can’t wait to finish setting up the ingredient select functionality and implement the other game functions! It’s going to be so exciting once I replace some of these stand-in graphics, too. I can really feel the game starting to come together already!It’s a little slow right now, but comparing the performance on my actual phone versus the emulator I’m quite sure it’s just my emulator that’s slowing me down!Pastel Patisserie is a free to play idle game for Android and iOS currently in development. -- source link
