gffa:This moment really gave me a lot of feelings, seeing how little was left of the Jedi and the various bits and pieces of their holocrons, the ones used for teaching and for their pleas to help protect people, to help the light, to help their deaths not to be in vain.Of course this isn’t actually all that’s left of the Jedi, there are still caches elsewhere, like Jocasta’s multitude of holocrons that we know Luke will find later, but Grakkus is obsessed with the Jedi and however much this might seem like a lot of stuff, it’s such a tiny, tiny sliver of what was once a living, breathing religion-culture. One that had lasted thousands of years, not just during the time of the Republic, but that the Jedi were even older than that, and they’re not just holocrons or lightsabers, but they’re art pieces, they’re statues and large scale mobiles of planets and star systems, they’re boxes and boxes of stuff that made up pieces of who they were and how they lived.Like nothing hits home about how horrific of a genocide this was of a people, as a collector who likes to hold onto their stuff and has no idea of the true meaning behind it, that it’s a bunch of prizes to him, rather than seeing them as pieces of people’s lives. Nothing hits home that what happened to the Jedi was literally genocide like hearing them plea for their deaths to not have been in vain, to protect the future of their people.Fuck. -- source link
