so watching the last two epsiodes has approximately felt like being put through a meat grinder, but i just /need/ to talk about this specific bit of this scene. the way su mengzhen turned to yang wuxie after everyone else as if looking for a last glimmer of hope for the one person he thought might take his side, like he clearly trusts him so much and they must have such a history together, wuxie would know everything this means to him.and the clear conflict from wuxie knowing mengzhen will absolutely view this as a betrayal, because in some ways it is. but also throughout the show wuxie has been so desperate to keep mengzhen alive, so obviously he /has/ to go against him if it’ll keep him safe for just a little bit longer.just the look of betrayal on mengzhens face when wuxie says it, and the way it wasnt just that wuxie couldnt look him in the eyes afterwards, he had to physically turn his body away because he knows how much hurt he just caused.like the way mengzhen keeps sacrificing himself for others over and over again, but the idea of anyone else trying to do that or anyone trying to stop him is so alien to him??? -head in hands- -- source link
