A CHRISTMAS SURPRISEPairing: Taron x ReaderRequested: Yup!Pronouns: She/HerGIF: No clueWarnings: None. Unless you are triggered by adorableness.Reading time: 7 Min.Notes: I’m trying to write a little faster so I did this in just a few hours as opposed to my others which took me up to a week. So I apologize if it sucks. Ha! Summary: You’ve been away a few weeks and are returning home to Taron at Christmas time. _____________________“Babe, what’s all this?”Y/N’s eyes widened as she edged through the doorway into the flat they shared. The weight of the suitcases in her hands forced her to turn sideways but she could see he had decorated for the holiday. Taron grabbed a bag from her as he held the door open.“Merry Christmas love.” He said. Her chest brushed against his and he puckered his lips. She placed a tiny kiss on them and set her bags down in the entryway. The sound of Tucker’s nails scratching across the floor turned her away from Taron. She knelt down to greet their golden retriever. Still a puppy, he fit right into her arms and she held her breath as he assaulted her face with his slimy tongue. “Awww. I missed you too Tucker.”The scent of the pine tree in their living room was overwhelming. Her eyes burned and she tasted the bitterness on her tongue when she inhaled. Standing a good 7 feet tall it was adorned in ribbons of blue and white, with pale turquoise lights shining like icicles in the moonlight.“Oh my gosh Taron.” She turned around to face him. How did you get that thing in here?““Wasn’t easy. Jack helped. I thought for sure we were going to take all the needles off getting it through the doorway.” He said. She practically leapt at him. Wrapping her arms around his neck, she planted a bevy of kisses over his face before pulling away and locking her eyes to his. “Well, I love it.”Taron grinned. “There’s more.” He nodded his head towards the living room. Go look.“Her brows drew together as a curious smile tore across her face. She made her way into the room with Taron following behind her. He leaned against the doorway and watched as she slowly wandered in a circle, admiring his handy work. There were candles on the tables at each end of the sofa, stockings hung above the fireplace and the mantle was covered in pine garland with ribbons matching the tree. Nestled among the garland were photos of them with friends and family. She pawed them gently with her fingertips as she passed. As if her touch would burn the image into her memory forever. She stopped when she reached a photo of herself, Taron and Tucker posing at the Marina. Swirling her fingers over the embossed filigree pattern of the frame she chuckled."This photo is so cheesy.” She said“That’s what I like about it.” Taron replied.Spotting new red and gold pillows on the sofa she hopped over and sat down. “That’s what I like about you.” She grabbed one of the pillows and snuggled it into her lap.“It’s all so lovely baby. Thank you” She patted the sofa next to her.Taron sauntered across the room and took a seat next to her, placing his hand on her thigh and giving it a gentle squeeze. She shivered. Even after a few years together his touch still gave her a tingly feeling in her stomach. He grabbed a blanket off the back of the sofa and laid it over them. She pulled her knees up and turned herself into him, laying her head on his chest. His shirt was soft and warm against her cheek. She took a deep breath and the scent of his cologne overtook the pine. “I missed this.” She said.“I missed you.” He rested a finger underneath her chin and tilted her face up to meet his. His lips pressed easily against hers sending a current through her entire body. She pressed her mouth harder against his. His hand caressed her cheek before taking the back of her neck and pulling her into him. Her heart raced. She hadn’t kissed him like this in 3 weeks and never wanted to stop. She wanted to melt right into him.Tucker barked and they pulled away, snapping their heads towards the sound. “Tucker! What are you doing?” Y/N said. They both jumped up and over to the pup who had shimmied himself between some gifts and poked his head inside the branches of the christmas tree.As Taron wiggled Tucker free Y/N admired the tree. It really was something, taking up almost a quarter of their living area. Noticing a single ornament in the center she stepped forward to look at it. Inside a clear glass ball were 4 tiny reindeer in a line, floating over a miniature snow covered forest. The polar white glitter glistened as she twisted it around, examining it from every angle.“Since it’s our first Christmas living together I thought it the perfect time to start a tradition.” He was standing behind her now and she felt the heat of his breath in her ear. His arms enveloped her waist and her hand came up to tangle her fingers in his hair. “A woman downtown makes them. We can get a new one every year.” He laid a single sweet kiss on her cheek.“Have you thought of everything,” She asked.“I have actually, yes.” He quickly picked up a box from the pile of presents and handed it to her.Y/N sat down again on the sofa and placed the gift on her lap. It’s wrapping matched the decor of the tree perfectly. Pale blue stars freckled the navy paper and on top sat a bow tied with clean, white ribbon. Taron settled across from her on the coffee table, so close he had to put one leg on either side of hers.“Open it.”She tore off the paper like a little kid and opened the box. Her eyes sparkled as a giant smile broke across her face. “Babe, what the hell is this?” Her words put Taron in a fit of full blown laughter and she was reminded how adorable she found the little gap where he was missing a tooth. She slapped him on the knee and held the sweater up. It was what she could only describe as an “ugly Christmas sweater.” Rows of red and green embroidered candy canes, snowflakes and reindeer took turns violating her eyes. It was an absolutely ridiculous gift, and just like Taron to give it to her.“Put it on.” He nudged her knee with his. His laughter had dulled to a small snicker every few seconds.“Alright.” Rolling her eyes she stood up, slipped the sweater over her blouse and struck a pose. One hand on her waist, the other behind her head, jutting her hip out to one side.“You look great babe.” He said. “Like a supermodel”Y/N dropped her hands down to her sides. “I look like a christmas tree threw up on me.”“Not at all love.” He shook his head. She noticed the gap in his teeth again as he laughed. Tucker put his front paws up on Taron’s leg and wagged his tail. “Wait, I can make this better.” He picked up Tucker and disappeared down the hallway. She had just tossed the empty box away in the kitchen when she heard him.“What do you think?” He asked.Y/N turned to the living room. Her shoulders crumpled forward as her hands rose to cover her mouth. Muffled laughter squeaked through the cracks between her fingers for a good 10 seconds before she could finally compose herself and stand up straight. “Oh. My. God.” She said.Taron stood tall and proud in front of the tree, His chest puffed out as he held Tucker up underneath his arm. Both boys were donning the exact same sweater as her. “I think we should replace that picture at the Marina with one of us wearing these.” He said. The corners of her mouth turned upward and she nodded her head as she walked to him. Her eyes gazing heavily into his she wondered how in the world she had gotten so lucky. The scent of the pine tree swirled with his cologne in her breath as she stood on her toes so the features of her face were in line with his. Taking his head in her hands, she brushed the tip of her nose across his. “I think I love you, She said."I think I love you too.” -- source link
