my-all-american-romance:How I drew Gerard and Lola:#1. I always start with a light outline of the whole drawing. This way I know where to colour.#2.Then I did Lola’s face, which was quite easy. A tip for when you are drawing a white surface: colour it! Don’t leave it white, this will look kind of weird. Instead, colour it very very lightly with, for example, light blue. I did this with lola’s face (you can see the blue shadow under the eyebrows). #3. Then Lola’s fur. This was harder to do because it’s all pink and there aren’t that much shadows in it. I just decided to leave some parts of it lighter so it would look like there was light falling on it. #4. Then Gerard’s hair! That was extremely hard and I have spent hours on drawing it… Anyway, when drawing hair, make sure you add a lot of shadows! This will make it look very realistic. Also highlights are very important! This makes the hair look real and healthy :). Also remember to draw in strands of hair. Divide everything in parts and draw strand after strand. Go over the highlights with an eraser when you’re done, this will really make the highlights stand out.#5. Then I drew the eyes. When drawing eyes, just make sure that the pupils and lashes are really black. This will give the person you are drawing a much more realistic expression. #6. Then the skin! I always find this hard to draw. Don’t use a black pencil while drawing shadows on skin! Use brown or light grey! Make sure that the skin is smooth and that all the colours flow into each other. When drawing men, you can add some shade above the lips (stubbles). This will make the person you’re drawing a bit older (it kind of ‘breaks’ the smooth skin). For the lips: don’t make them too red, especially not on men. I didn’t even use red here; just light pink and some brown. Good luck on drawing!
