The oncologist told my mom today that unfortunately she will lose all her hair again, she was kind of expecting that to happen but in about a month or 2 when she started chemo again, but her hair has already started to fall with the radiotherapy, this is taking an awful toll on her emotionally, she feels ugly and old and fears she’ll have a harder time renewing her contracts if she’s bald, and I can’t stand seeing my mom like this, she has been fighting cancer for 5 years now and never once wore a wig cause we could never afford it, but I can’t let her go through that again, dealing with the looks and intrusiveness of people or see her get fired again because of this, not without trying.There’s a wigs store specialized on cancer patients 2 blocks from the hospital, i took her today right after her treatment and after a lot of talking and applying all possible discounts the cheapest wig went from 7800 pesos to 5000, I used the money from the weekend projects i worked in that I was saving for a dog and called my mom’s boyfriend and we got 1000 pesos, we have till wednesday to give the rest of the money or we’ll lose the 1000 and the wig, I know it was risky and a little bit reckless to give the 1000 without knowing if i could get the rest but I just have to try, I’ve been calling all relatives and friends I can think of, I know this isn’t an emergency and I know you all have helped me before with my moms treatment and that there are people who need it more, but I just have to give it a shot, a dollar, 50 cents, it helps a lot, my mom has been battling this for 5 years now, she has been my only support my whole life, I have to try to give her at least this.there’s a donation button on my blog and my paypal is [email protected], I’m sorry and thank you all in advance -- source link
