Die Form ohne Ornament, Deutscher Werkbund,1924A seminal text of the Modern Movement, Form without Ornament was published by the Deutscher Werkbund in 1924 and was the first in a determinedly groundbreaking series titled “Bücher der Form”. The Werkbund, or DWB, was a collaboration of designers united by the rejection of Art Nouveau/Jugendstil in favour of purer forms reflecting mass production. Bruno Paul, Peter Behrens, Richard Riemerschmid, Josef Maria Olbrich and Wiener Werkstätte founder Josef Hoffmann were all among its founder members. “Die Form” was remarkable at the time of publication in its exclusive celebration of design inspired by industrial process. It features several important works from the Wiener Werkstätte and the early, Weimar period of the Bauhaus. Source Room-606 -- source link
