I’ve been working on a worldbuilding project lately! It’s loosely inspired by Mesoamerican societies and myths. This drawing is of a courier at rest. Her species is still unnamed at the moment, but basically they’re axolotl centaurs.1: This courier carries a waterskin to drink from while she rests. Of course, in order to keep water from spilling out when she isn’t using it, it has…2: A cap. On the inside, it has a screwlike pattern which matches that of the waterskin’s neck, letting it stay on tight. You’ve probably noticed that this cap has a hook on its end. That’s to keep it attached to…3: The belt. Specifically, the belt’s hook is meant to have stuff hang from it, so that the courier can have her hands free for other stuff.4: On her back, the courier carries a package, held firmly with various straps. It would be pretty uncomfortable to have that on bare skin, which is why she wears…5: A dress. It covers her second torso, and part of her first. On its front is painted the logo for the couriers’ guild she works with.6: The courier also wears wooden sandals in order to keep her feet protected from the terrain. They may look humble, but they’re made to last. -- source link
