January 24, 2021 - Japanese Tit (Parus minor)Previously considered a subspecies of the Great Tit, these birds are found in southeastern Russia, China, Japan, Korea, parts of Myanmar, and the northern parts of Thailand, Laos, and Vietnam. Their diet is made up of invertebrates and seeds. Like Great Tits they form monogamous pairs. Females build the nests in cavities in trees, walls, or rock faces, from grass, moss, hair, and other fibers. They incubate the eggs alone, but both parents care for the chicks. Recent studies suggest that they may have a longer breeding period and raise more chicks than their European relatives. -- source link
