Lenin, despite years in exile, never lost his sense of connection to Russia. He was not a nationalist in the chauvinist sense, but as a citizen of the Russian empire, he know where his place in the international struggle for socialism was. He is here not as the famous image of the bearded revolutionary (though these reverberate behind him), but as a smooth faced, slightly tired traveler; returning home after many years away. -- source link
