After a bad experience with Melville in high school (”Billy Budd”), I have been avoiding his work. Then this simplified adaptation en français came into my hands, so I decided to give it a go. Best case scenario, it inspires me to give Melville another shot. Worst case scenario, I’ll learn lots of French nautical vocabulary.
