The first time @ritabuuk and I played Skyrim, we did the love letter quest by telling Camilla that both Faendal and Sven were being shits to her. When we then approached Faendal, he said something like, “Well, I deserved that…” and joined us as a follower. We haven’t been able to get that line again in later playthroughs, but this interaction is why we like him: we read that as, he fucked up, he realized he fucked up, and now he needs to move on and redeem himself.
