It was deliberately beached during the 1930’s and used as the centerpiece of a fishing operation at Eckley pier in 1930. At one time it was the largest dance hall in Contra Costa County. Abandoned in the 1950s, it was burned in an arson fire in 1983 and rests right next to the Eckley Pier. She carried President U.S. Grant after his round the world tour.” -- source link
