I came to the Falinesti Autumn Site, once more finding the Faithful awaiting the walking city’s return…but surprisingly I also found the Mage’s Guild: namely Andewen who told me that Telenger the Artificer was once again out exploring and meddling with things that should probably be best left alone. A group of the Faithful had broken off, calling themselves the Arbordawn Cult, a group that was tired of waiting for the city’s return and were determined to bring it back themselves. As I undid the seal they had placed upon the Halls of Ichor and entered I found little resistance…as apparently Telenger had taken upon himself to turn most of the Arbordawn into chickens.Far greater dangers awaited us though, apparently in his haste to excavate some of the older tunnels of the Halls, he managed to unearth an ancient Daedric structure of some sorts, which naturally the denizens of Oblivion were using to enter Tamriel through. The fact we were only facing Spider Daedra should have tipped me off as to who I would find at the end of our path, but when she appeared it seemed so very strange. I’ve always hear tales of Mephala, but I always believed the “spider” to be more of a title considering how she handles her webs of secrets. I wasn’t expecting her to reveal herself, or at least the projection of herself, as an actual spider.Either way she seemed far too happy that Telenger had accidentally opened the doors to her temple and so naturally we shut them again as quickly as possible. I doubt the Daedric Prince will be entirely pleased by that, but I could not allow her to defile a holy site of my people. Before leaving I was gifted to an audience with a tree spirit with the help of tree-steward Ongalion. She assured me that whatever Mephala had been up to had been stopped, and that the walking city was indeed somewhere… but where? I fear that may remain a mystery I am incapable of solving. -- source link
