The main entrance to Glencairn’s Great Hall is through large bronze doors on the north side of the building. A covered porch provides protection from the weather for visitors, and directly outside is a large rectangular pool that was once a working fountain. On either end of the fountain are granite benches, with two large concrete planters on either end of each bench. These planters were specially designed for Glencairn and made by Raymond Pitcairn’s Bryn Athyn Studios. A full-size plaster model of one of these planters still exists in Glencairn’s collection of models (see bottom photo).
