nothingeverlost:onceuponatime-confessions:“I still have issues understanding FTL. I mean… it’s a country? It’s a continent? It’s an alternative universe? In fairytales, the kingdom was usually the same with the place where the author lived or from where the story came, but in OUAT… you can be French, speaking English with an Australian accent or Scottish with a German name, while you come from a mystical place and never heard of any another countries.”All of the above. So there’s this other dimension, where all storybook characters live. In this place are multiple worlds. One is FTL, one is Neverland, one is Wonderland, one is Oz, one is the black and white world where Whale is from.FTL is broken down into kingdoms. One is ruled by Snow’s father (then Regina, then Snow and Charming), one is ruled by George. One ruled by Midas. There’s others, presumably. We don’t know if Maurice serves under one of those kingdoms or another one. Does Maleficent have a kingdom? Is Rum’s castle on it’s own land?So you see our world and all the other worlds as two places? Two dimensions. Interesting. I’ve always thought that the show was created with the thought of multiple, equal dimensions which would be why portals are needed to get from one to another and why magic works differently in each. So our world is one of many, no more or less important than the others. FTL is in one dimension. Wonderland in another. Neverland in another. And so on. -- source link
