dimetrodone:dimetrodone:This is the most anatomically sound way I could think of anthropomorphizing a cephalopod but I feel that the world isn’t ready for yetAlso with this I don’t mean “stick an entire squid on a human body as the head”In the standard cartoon cephalopod, the arms and tentacles are made into the arms and legs, the base of them treated as the “body”. The Mantle is treated as the big bulbous head for the face to be situated on.This layout is fine, but also kinda the opposite of how cephalopod anatomy is layer out irlThe big “head” of the cephalopod isn’t actually it’s head, it’s its’ body and holds it’s visceral mass, kinda the the closest equivalent to a torso for them. The tentacles and “arms” have as much in common with a vertebrate’s or arthopod’s legs as much as an elephant’s trunk does really. The arms ring around the animal’s mouth and extend off the animal’s head. Some cephalopod do have fins, perhaps a better equivalent to our own limbs seeing as vertebrate limbs evolved from fins, these happen to be situated on the body of the animalBasically what I’m trying to say is that this is valid -- source link
