seedkeeping:Ran into Nancy Wygant on Pentridge so we on a whim decided to make a dent in the weeds at Pentridge Children’s Garden. Saw this snake in the compost. The apples are in bloom (after our annual pruning a couple months ago). We unwrapped the fig (not shown). The olive and pomegranate are alive. The arugula and mizuna are in flower! Three winters ago, I planted arugula and mizuna seed that was bred as a landrace at Tobacco Road Farm in Connecticut and now it comes back every year (it self seeds). It is acclimating well to Philly! If you want good winter greens, ask for seeds in the fall. #pentridgechildrensgarden #westphilly #mizuna #arugula #landrace #seedsaving #communitygarden -- source link
