valiantkryptonite:wearepaladin:jedi-traitor-shadowmoth:jokerexoh:This is Rey’s father Starkiller aka Galen Marek don’t even care what the next movie says! THIS IS CANNON TO ME!Praise!…I am torn. I actually really like that idea. I also like the idea of Rey being Luke’s daughter. I mean, there’s no way this will happen, TFU isn’t canon anymore, but that similarity is striking. Plus, I always hoped that Sam Witwer would continue to have a presence in the new Star Wars stories. I suppose he’s voicing Palpatine and Maul, but he could do plenty more.It may not be canon at the moment, but i know of one character that came back to canon in rebels. It may explain the insane force powers rey has, and the british accent that she would get from her mother as a child. Maybe we are getting the same character but with a different backstory.Fun speculation, but I don’t think so. Star Wars is all about the legacy of the Skywalker family, and everything I know about the nature of storytelling both in the classical and modern sense says that Rey is a Skywalker. And I don’t have a problem with that. Less than a problem, since Luke is my favorite character and I love the idea of him being a father. I’ve written fairly large posts to that effect. Now, superfans like us might get all excited at the prospect of connecting threads to more obscure characters, but you have to remember the vast majority of people know Star Wars from the films, not the vast amount of lore surrounding them in alternative media. That tells me that whatever Rey’s parentage is, it’s going to be fleshed out in the films, and further explored in other media, not the other way around. -- source link
