LS X, 2017, United Stateswww.lucatombolini.netLimited edition, 160x128cm (63x50,4in.) or 80x64cm (31,5x25,2in.)Lightjet on photographic paper from 4x5in negative drum scanned. In this tenth chapter of my bigger project about landscape studies, ivisited United States’s west. Seeking as usual a connection with theland i found a clashing difference between the majesty andspirituality of the sceneries and the values of contemporary society.Looking back at historic facts it was easy to see how little thenewcomers had embraced the land’s spirituality. The questionsraised aren’t just a local culture matter but they made me think evenmore about which relationship should modern man adopt with theplace that generated himself, through the mystery of origin of Lifeand the still-blank page that the understanding of the Cosmos is, inorder not just to address environmental problems but ultimately tosave himself by giving a meaning to his own existence. -- source link
