HOW DARE YOU!” Spilled from his lips.“How dare I?!” Mako hissed, his hand steadying itself by his hip, where his own gun was holstered. “How dare YOU fraternize with the enemy! How dare you fall for this girl!" "don;t you DARE talk about Korra that way!” Behind him, she coughed and held the napkin over her mouth. The marks where they had bound her were visible and she glared. “Bolin, we need to get out of here-" "My brother isn’t going to let us out.” He replied bitterly. “Mako, can’t you see that  the stupid territory wars the bosses- OUR bosses- have created is tearing our whole world apart?! What happened to you Mako?! When I told you about Korra, you didn’t care!" He slashed his hand through the air in anger. "that was before I learned she was working for Tenzin!” He stepped forward. “Leave her behind Bo, or Lin will have us both killed!" Shaking his head, Bolin blocked Korra from sight and raised his gun again. "I can’t let Lin do that to you Mako, but I love Korra more than I have ever loved anything else, and I will not just let her die because of something so stupid!” Finger on the trigger, he trembled. “but I love you too, and I don’t want to hurt you… ” And he fired, the gun aimed high above Mako’s head. Bolin grabbed Korra’s wrist and bolted, hurrying through the flames. “Hurry!” He insisted, and she did not hesitate to follow. “What about your brother?” she asked. “He’s stubborn, he might follow!" Bolin shook his head confidently. "No, he won’t. We’re going to start new Korra, no more territories, no more bosses, no Lin, no Tenzin, no guns, no violence, just us, just us together happy!” He spoke softly, dreamily as they ran from the burning building, clacking along the streets like freed rats. Suddenly the two of them were blinded by large spotlights and Bolin’s eyes widened. The chief of police was there beside his car, arm above his head. Bolin’s eyes widened as he spotted them- his gunmen. “FIRE!!!” Slid from his mouth as his hand cut through the air and the world slowed down. “NO!!!” Came Mako’s voice as he scrambled from the building, desperate to prevent the shooting, but too late.Bolin panicked and turned, knowing he had no time. He pushed Korra down and blocked her in is last show of ultimate love, shielding her from the rapid gunfire until a sliver of blood trailed from his lips and he smiled down at her with dimming eyes. “I told you… I’d… protect… you….." "B-Bolin?” Korra felt his dead weight suddenly fall atop her and she gasped at the weight, scrambling out from beneath him. “Bolin?!!” trembling, she touched him and realization dawned on her. “no- nonono NO!!!” She screamed and grabbed his gun, lifting it and firing off with a loud, tear-filled scream. “AAAAAHHH!!!!!" Bang! She shot one in the shoulder and another took a death shot, the third badly wounded in the legs, But-BANG!The shot hit her square in the chest and she gasped and fell, slumping beside Bolin. When everyone had gone, Mako scrambled up to them and turned Korra over. She coughed and ganced up at him. "Mako…?” she asked. “Yes-” He replied. “Tell them…” She said. “T-tell them it’s stupid-” she coughed and grimaced. “Promise for him- Promise…" "I promise- I’ll make sue this stupid war ends!” He assured her, but she was already gone. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*WHY do I do this to myself?! *sob* This just poured out!
